Site Movements UK Ltd TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF TRANSPORT
The Site Movements UK Ltd price list is for ‘basic lift’ only, intermediate or advance lifts will be priced on a job by job basis. Our members of staff will be able to explain the difference between basic, intermediate or advance lift if you are unsure on the difference please ask.
The Site Movements UK RAMS (risk assessment method statement) are designed to be used with any ‘basic lift’ under the ALLMI guide lines (4.6 BPG). If the lift is intermediate or an advance lift then a site visit and lifting plans may be required at extra cost. Site Movements UK will presume that if not requested beforehand the lift is then ‘basic’ and the generic Site Movements UK RAMS will be used. Site Movements UKs MUST be informed by the customer if an intermediate or more advance lift is required.
Booking must be made via telephone and then an order confirmation must be sent across via email, with all the relevant information and contact details.
We cannot carry out any transport work without written consent from the customer, or an order number.
Unless specifically asked, job’s will be done between the hours of 7.30am and 5.00pm on the date in question. It will be presumed that the delivery/collection site will be available until 5.00pm, unless otherwise stated in email. The site should be accessible for a large lorry, articulated or single ridge with trailer and that the items are ready to be moved and empty of goods. It will also be presumed unless otherwise stated by the customer that the use of ladders will be allowed on site.
Every effort is made to deliver or collect customer’s items on the day in which the job has been booked. However we cannot guarantee any timed delivery or collections due to the nature of road transport and traffic delays. Site Movements UK Ltd cannot be held responsible for any loses caused to our customers or third party’s business because of failed delivery or collection. We cannot guarantee any dates or times but try our upmost to fulfill our customer’s needs.
Waiting time will be charged for any delivery or collection when our vehicle is waiting on site for over 30 minutes, including the first hour. You will be notified by Site Movements UK LTD of any additional charges resulting in us having to wait. Waiting time will be charged per hour.
You will be charged an aborted fee if:
- If the job booked in is cancelled 48 hours before the scheduled delivery or collection date a charge of 50% of the agreed rate is applicable. If the job is cancelled 24 hours before the scheduled delivery or collection date then 100% of the agreed rate is applicable.
- If we have travelled to the customers premises and the item is not accessible / empty.
- Waiting time will be charged if we are on site longer than the designated 30 minutes.
- Access to site could not be gained. Every effort is made to gain access to the item/items.
- You will also be charged aborted costs if the delivery or collection is considered too dangerous or breaks our health and safety guidelines or RAMS. The delivery and collection of large portable buildings can be dangerous and our drivers will not continue with the job if they consider it dangerous to do so. Site Movements UK Ltd will notify you over the telephone or email if a job which has been booked has not taken place and that you will be charged an aborted cost.
Site Movements UK vehicles will not travel on grass or mud. Our vehicles are designed to travel on normal road surfaces and therefore will not travel over fields or any area in which our drivers assess to be too dangerous and could result in an accident or our vehicle getting damaged or stuck / wedged on site or needing recovery.
A day hire of the vehicle is based on a 10-hour day (7am to 5pm). 7am meaning the time our driver starts his day work at the Site Movements UK depot in Bolton, the day hire includes our driver doing his daily routine – including the safety check of his truck, refueling, checking the fluids and oils and to fill out his paperwork.
In addition, our driver is to return to Site Movements UK depot by 5pm. If failed to do so, extra cost will be added onto the price of the day hire at our standard hourly rate if our driver does more than his 10 hours shift. Following on, you will be charged before 7am if our driver is to start earlier than his normal start time and will be charged extra. No discount will be given if the days hire finishing before 5pm
The Tachograph and EU driver hour laws will be complied with 15 / 30 / 45-minute break for every 4.5 hours driving.
It is the hire responsibility to organize the workload for the vehicle you have hired to transport your equipment. including correctly providing RAMS for work carried out on your behalf and providing our driver with a safe working environment.
Hourly rates – Vehicles can be hired on an hourly rate at the quoted cost given. A minimum hire period is 4 hours including driver tachograph breaks in regulation with DVLA and working time law. It is the hirer’s responsibility to organize the workload for the vehicle including correctly providing RAMS for work carried out on your behalf and providing our driver with a safe working environment.
Due to Health & Safety we will not carry staircases or waste tanks / water tanks on the roof of units. Additional transport must be added. Nor will we deliver or collect any items if it is considered dangerous to do so. You must make sure you have booked sufficient transport to cover the amount of equipment you wish to transport, we cannot guarantee additional transport availability if items have been missed off the original booking.
Any invoice queries must be made within 14 days of the job’s completion date. All invoices to be paid, by BACS, or CHEQUE, within 31 days of the job completion date, unless you have extended payment arrangements. By booking a job with site Movements UK Ltd you are agreeing to these terms.
